introduction
Corridor arts is the collaborative practice of artists Christine Gray and andrew martyn sugars. they met on the Fine Art degree at the University of Derby and discovered that they enjoyed making and doing things together. After the degree they found themselves working on several projects together and realised that being with other practioners was very important to them, in contrast to the intensive solitary personal practice working methods.
Corridor allows Christine and andrew to work together on fun, creative, collaborative endeavours. they both find this very important to help themselves both personally and professionally.
Corridor Arts supports collaborative thinking and working, from doodling on a table cloth to creating an audio kinetic experiential artwork.
Through producing the Belper Art Trail, Corridor have found that working in partnership with agencies is of great benefit.
Christine and andrew bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Corridor arts, with the intentions of having fun, exploring creativity, making exhibition opportunities, making networking opportunities and producing memorable installations.
In 2012 Corridor Arts will once again produce the Belper Art Trail in July, part of the town’s Food Festival. Running alongside the preparations for the Trail, Corridor are running The Murmation Project and Peer to Peer meetings.
Corridor acknowledge the financial support of the Derbyshire Community Foundation for running the Peer to Peer meetings.
