a peer to peer meeting is simply that. a meeting where artists, makers, crafts people, writers, actors and musicians meet to discuss with each other their practice, their interests and their work.
the format of the meeting allows for works at any stage of completion to be shown to the group as a focal point of discussion. for example at previous meetings we’ve seen completed paintings, sketch books, unframed paintings, books that have inspired, sculpture, yarn bombing and even a non linear film.
in the original format the meetings happened quarterly in a venue either in or close to belper. with no set agenda the meeting is steered by a facilitator to include the work, inspirations and ideas brought to the table by those attending the meeting. in belper the venue was the strutts community centre, derby road, belper DE56 1UU, it began at 2pm and lasted for 2 hours. we charged £3.50 and this included a hot drink.
these meetings were originally set up using the funding provided by derbyshire community foundation and corridor arts wish to extend their thanks for this.
in 2017 the format is being reviewed. we invite your ideas of how we might evolve it.
