we’re pleased to announce our artist opporuntity for the here and there project. taking place during the spring bank holiday weekend the project seeks artists working in any medium to create work in belper parks.
the parks date date to the 13th century and during the medieval period deer were kept there for when royalty were staying in the area. it’s possible to still see the remains of the walls that kept the deer in place. it’s also still possible to see the holly that the deer fed on.
we are looking for artists to create pairs of works…. one here and one there.
- here represents a curated area centred about a specific tree.
- there is the complimentary work situated somewhere within the rest of the area.
The pairing idea allows for consideration of balance in any form.
